These before and after shots illustrate what can be achieved. What was almost a streambed is now a sustainable path. In the centre of the right picture is a waterbreak; out of shot are other water management structures.

Drain

Water is usually the main agent of erosion, and providing adequate drainage is central to the success of any repair project. While waterbreaks are useful, stone drains should be used where water flow is significant. On any project, one of our first tasks is to build one at the top of the erosion scar.

Rag Orrest

Different paths require different solutions, and we adapt our methods to suit the individual requirements of each path. The left picture shows our usual style, which we consider to be appropriate for most mountain environments. The right picture shows a more formal approach.

Bridge Bench

There are endless variations of our skills, and here we show just two; Preventing erosion under a bench, and a surface over a bridge which is designed for wheeled traffic. Other major skill areas we offer include dry stone walling and revetment building to protect riverbanks etc.
